Misfits

The Misfits were founded in Lodi, New Jersey, in 1977, by Glenn Danzig (Glenn Allen Anzalone). Throughout the years since, the member list has fluctuated. The band's current members include: Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, Des Cadena, and Eric "Chupacabra" Arce. Glenn had a fascination with Marilyn Monroe. The band's name was taken from her last movie entitled, The Misfits. There have been a number of other members since the band was founded. Some of these members include: Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, Dr. Chud, Michale Graves, Robo, Marky Ramone, Bobby Steele, and Mr. Jim, to name a few. Jerry Only, the band's bassist and vocalist, has been the only consistence member of the Misfits throughout the years. He has an infamous hair style called the devilock, in which he has been credited for creating. Each and every incarnation of the Misfits has always used imagery, makeup, clothing, and lyrics inspired by B listed horror and science fiction films. The sound of the band has slightly drifted from their original harsh, sinister, punk melodies and lyrics into a lesser evil sounding heavy metal band. Their skeletal, iconic logo was inspired from the 1946 movie poster The Crimson Ghost. This logo can be found plastered worldwide on the thousands of Misfits t shirts worn by fans. Seven studio albums have been released though out the years as well as numerous singles. The Misfits fan club is entitled The Fiend Club. It is still in working order today. The Misfits can be seen today at a concert venue near you.
