Big Bang Theory

The CBS sitcom, Big Bang Theory, is about a set of roommates, Leonard Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons). These roommates are complete nerds with very high intellect. They both work for California Institute of Technology (CalTech) as physicists. Leonard and Sheldon have an across the hall neighbor, Penny, Kaley Cuoco, who is an aspiring actress/waitress. Leonard develops feelings for Penny immediately. Two other characters in the show are Howard Wolowits, Simon Helberg, an aerospace engineer and Rajesh Koothrappali, Kunal Nayyar, an astrophysicist. The four guys hang out watching science fiction movies, reading comics books, playing video games, and engaging in all sorts of geeky discussions. Penny is the social butterfly of the sitcom. A romance blooms between her and Leonard. Johnny Galecki plays a character named Leonard on this sitcom. He has an IQ of 173 and received his Ph.D. from Princeton University at the age of 24. He works as an experimental physicist for CalTech. When first glancing his neighbor, Penny, he became infatuated. This back and forth romance is the focus of this sitcom. Leonard plays the cello, collects Star Wars memorabilia, owns a Superman comic book collection and a Battlestar Galactica fight suit. He is a true nerd even though he doesn't actually look the part. Leonard has many health conditions as well. He is lactose intolerant, has myopia, sleep apnea, and asthma.The character, Sheldon Cooper, is played by Jim Parsons in this tv sitcom. Sheldon is a child prodigy. He entered the University of Texas at the age of of eleven and graduated by the age of fourteen. Sheldon received his Ph.D. at sixteen. He works as a senior theoretical particle physicist at CalTech. Sheldon was born and raised in TX and has a twin sister named Missy. Sheldon has been given many of the aspects of someone with Asperger's syndrome. He has an obsessive-compulsive personality disorder as well as asexuality. The show's creator, Bill Prady, denies this fact and states they he has 'Sheldonisms'. Sheldon is by far the most geeky/intelligent. The Big Bang Theory originally aired on September 24, 2007 and is still actively recording to this day.
