Volbeat

Volbeat is considered a heavy metal band but is a fusion of many genres. These genres include: heavy metal, punk, hard rock, blues, alternative metal, groove metal, rock and roll, and rockabilly. Volbeat was formed by Michael Poulsen in 2000 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Volbeat's name means volume beat. Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, AC/DC, The Misfits, Napalm Death, Social Distortion and Metallica are some of the bands that inspired Volbeat. They have released four studio albums. These are as follows: The Strength/The Sound/The Songs (2005), Rock the Rebel/Metal the Devil (2007), Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood (2008), and Beyond Hell/Above Heaven (2010).  Volbeat are signed to Rebel Monster Records. They have reached widespread international acclaim in the music industry.  Their albums have received double platinum in Finland and Germany and in Sweden and Austria received gold. The band consists of: Michael Poulsen (vocalist and guitarist), Anders Kjolholm (bassist), and Jon Larsen (drums). Past members include: Teddy Vang, Thomas Bredahl and Franz Gottchalk. Volbeat has performed at many festivals over the last few years. In 2010 they performed at the Download Festival and The Big Four. After joining Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax and Slayer on the Big Four tour, Volbeat then joined Metallica on their tour. In 2011, Volbeat began it's Grand Summer Tour across America, in Toronto, and ended in Anaheim, CA. After they finished this tour they joined Megadeath, Motorhead and Lacuna Coil on the Gigantour. In June 2012, Volbeat began a new North American Summer tour. Iced Earth and Hellyeah will be the opening acts. This tour will stop in Detroit, Tempe, San Francisco, Boston, Weyburn, and Toronto.
