Asking Alexandria

Asking Alexandria is a Metalcore band. Metalcore is a sub genre of heavy metal music combined with extreme metal and hardcore punk. Ben Bruce founded this band in 2008 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. There they released a one full length album entitled, The Irony of Your Perfection. At some point, Ben decided to move back to the UK. He left his current lineup in Dubai, which caused a breakup of that version of Asking Alexandria. Once back in the UK, Bruce immediately recruited new members and began working on new material. The band from Dubai and the band from the UK are two entirely different bands with different sounds. This has many fans of Asking Alexandria confused. Bruce kept the name Asking Alexandria for the meaning/reason behind it. The new and current Asking Alexandria band consists of: Ben Bruce, lead guitar, programming and backing vocals, James Cassells, drums, Cameron Liddell, rhythm guitar, Danny Worshop, lead vocals, keyboards and programming, and finally Sam Bettley, bass. Asking Alexandria has released two studio albums entitled, 2009's Stand Up and Scream, 2011's Reckless & Relentless. In 2010, they released a Life Gone Wild album with covers from heavy metal band Skid Row. One remix album has also been released: 2011's Stepped Up and Scratched. Since 2009, Asking Alexandria has released fourteen singles, including a cover of Akon's 'Right Now (Na Na Na)' and six music videos. Their television debut was made on April 11, 2011, on Jimmy Kimmel Live. They performed "Someone, Somewhere" and "Closure". Asking Alexandria have a few upcoming concert events as they are part of the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival. This tours on the west cost of the US in June and July 2012. Current festival roster includes: Asking Alexandria, Slipknot, Motorhead, Slayer, and Anthrax.
